🔥🎆 Remember, Remember to Be Safe This 5th November!
As fireworks light up the skies, our dedicated Control Room staff and Fire Crews will be working tirelessly to keep everyone safe on one of the busiest nights of the year.
💙 Let’s help protect them and our communities by being smart, safe, and sensible. Here are a few ways you can help:
🎇 Attend an organised display and leave fireworks to the professionals wherever possible.
🗑️ Bring your bins in early and keep them away from your property – they can be an easy target for deliberate fires.
🐾 Be considerate of pets, wildlife, and vulnerable people – loud noises and bright lights can cause real distress.
While we encourage everyone to attend organised displays, we know some may choose to have fireworks at home. If that’s you, please take extra care:
🎆 Keep fireworks and bonfires well away from houses, sheds, fences, and trees – fires can spread quickly.
🎇 Always keep a bucket of water or sand nearby to safely dispose of sparklers.
👀 Only adults should handle and light fireworks – always follow the instructions carefully.
🚫 Never return to a firework once it’s been lit – even if it hasn’t gone off, it could still explode.
🐾 Keep pets indoors and away from fireworks and bonfires.
Deliberate fires put lives at risk and take our crews away from real emergencies. If you see or know about dangerous or suspicious behaviour in your area, please report it anonymously to FireStoppers on 0800 169 5558 or online at firestoppersreport.co.uk
💙 Together, we can make it a safe and enjoyable night for all.
