Children in The Adventure Suite are focusing on DT for the summer term and we are combining this with our theme of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’.
We used plastic bottles and broken tree baubles and repurposed them into toys
We all created a design of a soft toy and set about bringing our designs to life.
Well done everyone.

Minecraft continues to be a highly popular platform for children, combining creativity, problem-solving and social interaction.
While the game can offer positive opportunities for learning and play, features such as public servers, multiplayer modes and in-game communication can create safeguarding challenges.
Our latest #WakeUpWednesday guide supports educators and parents in understanding these risks and helping children play more safely.
The guide explores:
• Public server communication and contact with unknown players
• Griefing, disruptive behaviour and online conflict
• In-game spending and subscription costs
• Addictive gameplay loops and balanced screen time
• Safer settings, private servers and suitable game modes
With clear, practical advice, the guide helps adults set boundaries, encourage safer choices and support responsible Minecraft use.

📘💙Transition 2026
Transition 2026 will take place on Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th July 2026. We cannot wait to meet all of the newest members of #TeamNunthorpe.
❓️🤔 But what can parents/carers do between now and then?
Please see our earlier post on Facebook & Instagram which details the booking link for our uniform 'pop up' event, due to take place on the evening of the first day of transition, Monday 6th July in our Gym. Should you need any additional help in accessing these links, please do contact our uniform supplier, Michael Sehgal & Sons.
❓️🤔 But what about students transitioning to Nunthorpe?
Mr Yale & Mrs Murray are currently busy organising visits to your primary schools, where they will come and speak with you and your teachers. They are the first two faces that you will get to see from Nunthorpe and are there to help you with any questions that you may have surrounding transition. Additionally, some extra pieces of information are in the process of being sent through to all students attending the academy come September, so watch this space!
❓️🤔 But what about the school admissions form?
Do not worry, these will be going to all parent/carer email addresses once all have been collated. The transition team are aiming to get these out by the end of the week, giving everybody plenty of time to complete this throughout the May Half Term.

Class 8 (Mrs Morrow's class) won the highest attendance for last term and celebrated last Friday in school. The children decided they would like to come into school in their pyjamas (or comfy clothes). During the afternoon the children watched a movie with popcorn!
Well done Class 8.

Online grooming is a serious and growing threat, with offenders using a range of tactics to build trust with children and young people before exploiting that relationship.
This can happen across social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps and group chats, often through fake identities, flattery, gifts or pressure.
Our latest #WakeUpWednesday guide highlights key risks, including:
• Strangers using fake identities
• Exploitation through gifts and flattery
• Group chats creating hidden pathways
• Gaming platforms becoming grooming gateways
• Sextortion, criminal grooming and radicalisation
The guide also offers practical advice for parents and educators on recognising warning signs, understanding the platforms children use and creating open, regular conversations.
