Governing Body

In accordance with the Government’s requirement for all governing bodies, the three core strategic functions of Captain Cook Primary School Governing Body are:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
  2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure it’s money is well spent.

We, as the Governing Body take great pride in being Governors at our school. Working with pupils, staff and parents we support the school in its mission;

Our Governing Body is made is of 8 governors as follows;

2 Parent Governors elected by parents of the school.
4 Co opted Governor appointed by the Board of Governors based on the skills, knowledge and experience that they bring to the role.
1 Head Teacher of the school.
1 Member of school staff approved by the Board of Governors.
